Someone sold me a stolen imac?

Ok i found a imac for sale in chicago craiglist for $800.00. I offer the guy 2 iphones one was iphone 4 16gig the other iphone 3gs 16gig. I send him an email he responded with his number. So we started talking about if he would trade. He reply sure i will. Ok so everything worked out fine. Couple of weeks later about 2:30pm i hear someone nocking my front door im walking down the stairs and i see 2 chicago police in front of my house. I open the they my name i was like yes sir he tells me your under arrest they didnt even tell me the reason until they handcuff me. The detective told me now wheres the imac i told him in my room so he went inside my room and took it. They took me aswell so they asking all type of questions sold tell him i bought from this guy in craiglist. So itook them to the place i bought it from and i was thinking to myself thos f****n is going to deny he sold it to me. So we got there and soon as we went in he guy said (this guy has nothing to do with this) so they still treated me as a criminal. I stood quiet they took us to the police station when we got there they finally uncuff me. So on so on now my thing is that how can i recover my items or money i know where this guy lives his phone number. Because i believe hes backing off. Can i press charges or something of that nature?
